Poop/food ???'s

Hi, I was just wondering a few things... I have been raising 2 baby red earred since november... they are def growing and LOVE to eat. They are about 7-9 months old and 1 is nearly 3.5 inches head to tail and the other is nearly 3 inches. I feed them 2 x's a day with about 3-4 sticks of reptomin each time. and i usually put new veggies (spinich and different lettuces) daily cuase they eat it up. I noticed they started eating their poop... is this normal? Should i feed them more? They used to spit it back out. Everytime I come to the tank they swim by it and try to beg for food. Please let me know anything!
Thank you, Jodi

I don't know if every other turtle parent would agree with me on this but i find a good rule of thumb to be: feed about the amount of food equivelant to the size of the turtle's head. so as they grow you will need to feed them more, and it is interesting that your young'uns like the fresh veggies, usually young turts are carnivorous mainly. My turtl didn't start on veggies untill she was about 5 inches ( I don;t know the age, since I got her at a pet shop at 4 inches) hope that helps.
