You are linking to the page that holds the picture, not the picture itself.

For the first one, you should put

http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/data/1780PastelMale-med.JPG

between the [ img ] [ / img] tags (no spaces, but need them or they won't show up here). You can get this by right-clicking on the picture and going to "Properties" ... from there you can steal the url. Copy and paste it into your [ img ] [/ img ] tags.

The url you had was http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/index.pl?photo=98830, which is the url of the page which contains the pic. gallery.pethobbyist.com/index.pl?photo=98830
