I finally lost my mind! NEW CAGE!

anson Oct 29, 2003 04:51 PM

I told everyone a while back that one day I would love to make a cage using frame moulding. Well I finally did it. The front door is frame moulding. I was going to use a bright gold leaf but decided to go a more natural route (sort of) This is a moulding that used to be super expensive and I always liked it. I got a great deal on it when the company finally retired that design and I had to buy an entire box of it (around 500 feet) to get a fantastic price on it of about 75% off.
Even with that it is not the cheapest moulding around. My business partner was none too happy and wants me to get my head examined!
Of course I love it. Hey nothing is too good for my babies, right!
Hmmmm which frame should I use for my next one?
I may also redo the front screen on this one and switsh to 1/4 inch hardware cloth wire. I used the screening that crickets can chew through because I had some and I cup feed but I will switch it when I get a chance to get some.

This is a closer look at the design on the moulding. It is a seagrapes pattern

Very nice looking cage, do you need more horizontal branches though? I couldn't tell. Anyways... looks like you have a nice set-up there,...what all do you have? I would like to see all of your set-ups if possible. You said your business partner...is that a breeding project?>

All my cages are in one room in my condo. Cramped quarters but I love my chams. I only raise chams/herps for fun and profit, well I mean for fun and loss! hahahaha

Looks good! A week ago i posted pics of my new cage. I think its great if more people can build thier own cages we wont need to buy fancy-shmancy metal ones for big bucks.
