Off topic... But I got two new cuties today!

Gunilla Feb 08, 2003 05:34 PM

I bought two Helmeted Geckos (Geckonia chazaliae) at a herp show today! They are so cute! I only have experience from bearded dragons so those geckos are completely new to me. They are so small, and are SO cute! I will post images of them soon.

I think I got the basic facts - but I would like to learn a LOT more! Does anyone know where I can find caresheets or more information about them (Ok, I know this is the wrong forum, but still..? I have searched the net - but I can't really find any good info about Helmeted Geckos. Please help me out if you can!

Thanks!
/Gunilla

Hi Gunilla and everyone!

I have not been on the Forum for quite awhile. Thinking that I must have had a 'bad cookie' on my hard-drive, last night I went through and deleted any/all 'Kingsnake.com' cookies in several folder and today mysteriously I find that I can easily add postings! I have not been permitted or able to do so now for several months... I kept getting the message "you need to register -etc. etc." and I HAVE, but that is the responce 'to login'. Today, I Login first time without incident. Nice!

New lizards, eh? Neat!! I no longer have any beardies or iguanas anymore... my fiancee is very afraid of them so I sold/gave them all away last Spring/Summer. She loves my ferret though, so I can keep her (both fiancee AND ferret).
Someday I'd love to have a reptile again, -maybe a 'beaver-tail dwarf uromastyx', that is, the "Xenogama Taylori". -They are totally awesome!! Think of a small beardie but they have a scaly 'beaver-esque' tail instead... looks as if they are dragging a diaper behind them!! hahaaaa!
If anyone has links to an Xeno-sites, let me know please.

Anyway, I am kind of rusty anymore on beardie knowledge, having not dealt with them for maybe six months now or a bit longer. And I'm back taking another class, -Webpage Design. -There's a new career out there for me.
But I am now able to do more than just 'lurk', -I'll be able to post replies again.

-Joel
(and p.s., *I like* the new Kingsnake.com Forum sites and etc.)

and got a water dragon today, she is really very calm, about 12 inches (they have VERY long tails)have not named her yet, but she thinks the dragons are interesting in their enclosures and they seem to have no problem with seeing her. At least Sandy has not painted her tank again!

So I have a lot of reading to do to. Congrats to you and the new ones

But... I just don't have enough room for that kind of lizard... Those geckos don't require THAT much space!

I haven't named my geckos either... it is HARD to find good names!
