One of my breeders (2nd year breeder) has produced viable eggs (that hatched) this season, but the last clutch she laid appears infertile. Last season I think I only mated her once and it was enough for the whole season. What gives? Also, I just candled a clutch of hers that should be hatching any day now and one of the eggs- though it looks fertile, has that papery fertile texture and is full and white and not dented at all, appears to have a YELLOW glow, and I can't see anything inside. ???? The other agg in that clutch is starting to dent and has something in it, but when I candled it it split a bit- did I just kill the gecko or does it sound like it is just starting to hatch (it is time)?

This year I am breeding many more gex than last year, and rotated them into his enclosure for mating, watch them mate, the remove the female. I usually waited one day between matings. Could it be that he was running out of sperm from daily matings? Or that he needed to do it more than once? Many of new breeders, some well over sixty grams (first year) also appear to be laying infertile eggs, second clutch now for some. I am re-mating them, but is one day not enough between matings for the male? I don't want my girls to waste their resources on infertile eggs, and of course, I want babies!
