Hi Jag (and everyone as well),
So heres the low down... Recently took fecals from the remaining sick animals (4 of the 16 made it) to an actual lab, and low and behold they didn't find any harmful bacteria... BUT, after hearing of what I'd just went through they decided to talk to my vet and managed to get them to let me try some Baytril on the four animals that were included in the sick colony. The four animals are starting to show visible growth in both body and tail (which is a very, very reassuring (SP) sign). On another good note, I've recently hatched out 4 more Super Hypo Tangerine babies (Brant Line) and have 6 more eggs left in the incubator... I still use crickets, but they come from Armstrong now and not my previous supplier... Although mealies are still the best in my eyes... None of my other animals (25 others) are showing any signs of having contracted whatever had caused me so much devastation (to say the least), so for that I'm very, very thankful... Jag, I see that some of your geckos are starting to act up a bit? I have a couple of breeders that slow down on their eating and loose a bit of weight every year at this time. I think its because of the change of seasons.... But after the ordeal I just had, I'd get a fecal sample checked out in a heart beat... Just to be safe of course... I never had any proof that it was a bacteria of some sort that had entered so many of my animals systems, but after talking to so many of you about it for soooo long, I'm convinced that it was, especially how fast and significantly the animals have improved after starting the baytril... Again, thanks for everyone's help and I'll be getting a camera soon here (hopefully... lol) to post some pics of my animals that were holdbacks, and for that matter.... Survivors.
Thanks again,
Richie Agnew
Im sorry you lost so many. Im glad that the ones that survived are doing so much better. Congratualtions on the new hatchlings. I hope mine are a seasonal thang. I pray. Im glad everything is begining to look up. Keep up the good work.
