WTF Housing

Sarah99 Oct 30, 2003 10:13 AM

I currently have 2 adult WTF in a 20GH tank. They have lived with me for about a year and a half now. They have a heating pad on the side of the tank, with reptile carpet between them and the glass. I have soil substrate and a water source. They also have several items to climb on now. They have regular lighting on a 12 on 12 off cycle and the tank is around 78 (on the cool side) in the day and 70 at night.

I have recently been given a 30 gallon tank to "upgrade" their houseing... I intend to use bedabeast in this tank because I have found that the soil is messy and compacts to easily. What other suggestions do you have to make happy healthy frogs?

I am open to suggestions!

I would suggest that you switch to a heat light, or overhead ceramic heat emmiter in place of the heat pad. In the wild, Tree frogs will move onto the ground, or into the shade to cool off. A heat light will simulate the warmth of the sun better than a heat pad.

Other than that you may want to conceder adding some live plants such as pathos. The plants will add a natural look to the tank, and give your frogs many places to hide and climb. The pathos will grow great in the bed-a-beast.
