@#%&* UVB bulb died!!

Sohni Oct 30, 2003 12:29 PM

There was a post not too long ago asking about Capture the Sun bulbs--well, I've used mine for maybe a MONTH, and it's dead. Returning it will be a pain in the butt, and right now I can't find the receipt, so I don't even know if they'll take it back.

Anyone had good luck with a particular brand?

(Shrieking) *$%@#!!!!!

Man... such language...
I've got Active UV heat bulbs that have been in use now for going on 4 years.
I've also got bulbs that died in a month. It is a hit and miss deal and no one ever posts how long their bulb lasted but you will see tons of posts how short they lasted. This is not a true reflection of the dependability of the bulbs.

Ed, have you noticed a difference in failure rates between the 100 watt & higher wattages? I read somewhere that the ballasts for the 100 watt were not as reliable.

I get all my curse words from my husband, who can swear effectively in several languages, including Armenian--and let me assure you, they are much more colorful and degrading than anything an American could think up, lol.

The bulbs that I have been using are 100w. I can't relate to the failure rate.
