Rear Fanged Species ? would like to start keeping them but need advice

turtsandtorts Oct 30, 2003 05:00 PM

What is a very pretty rear fanged species that is fairly priced? I have worked with timber rattlesnakes and copperheads in the wild a lot, and have learned how to handle snakes in general...I want to step up to venomous, as my snakes are boring me. I considered a coral snake, but they seem to have a lot of issues with them. Legality is not of issue in my state. Please let me know what you guys think would make a good canidate.

Thanks,
Steve Clark

Well first off, can you tell me what kind of snakes you find attractive?

You might want to try a baby Mangrove (beautiful black with yellow bands). venom is weak as a baby and not that serious as an adult)and as it grows to a more respectable size you can get good experience off it.
