Funniest thing just happened

hroberts Oct 31, 2003 09:19 AM

My Cuban just crawled up on to the couch, onto my lap, and ate my egg sandwich. Are these guys Omnivorous? I have been told to always feed them greens and for the past 2 years that is what I have been feeding him (with an occasional superworm).

Please advise

Thanks,
Harold

I think opportunistic is a closer desription. Like Carole said in a previous post they will try to eat almost anything. I think the popular thinking is a veggie diet with 10% or less animal protein.
Stick with your current diet. I had a green ig that went wild for Oreos. I couldnt eat them within eye sight of her. Captivity does odd things to their diets

hehe, sounds familiar. They will eat ANYTHING. Nothing is safe. Pete came here at 3 years of age and is not shy. Check out this picture on my webshots album. This was not long after he got here and it was a noodle casserole in the dish...

PS, stick with the veggies the best you can. Egg sandwiches maybe once a year

Ok here is another thing for you..... My wife brought home a rabbit.... Not just any rabbit. this thing is huge!!!! Bigger than my cat and weighs almost 12 pounds. I let him out of his cage for a while and my Cuban (2.5 yo) chases the rabbit around trying to eat it. He ignores the cat, the dogs, even the other reptiles.

What color is the rabbit ? I use to let my rhinos roam the back yard, and they would chase my 70lb black lab, but ignored the 60lb golden retriever.
