Thanks for posting this, I have been DIEING to see more pictures of your dwarfs. I think if you can put a lot more pictures with items for scale or perspective it would do them more justice. (like the pic with the ball python that made me a true believer)
I have heard that breeders and herpers in other countries on foreign websites have been talking about your dwarfs. Is this true? Is the interest in these guys becoming global? I guess I shouldn't be surprised,.. these TINY guys are the BIGGEST thing to ever hit the burm world. Truly a moment in herp history going on right now. You must feel very lucky.
Best of luck with your breeding and hatching. (how many days to hatch now? it must be about a month now)

Hello Brian. I will be putting more pictures up with size comparison. They are smaller than you can imagine. They are just incredible. We got a hundred emails after we posted the pictures with the gravid dwarf and the ball python!!
You are welcome to come and see them. People are actually reserving babies up pretty fast. But we wont be selling many. So the sooner, the better.
Yes, there is two overseas message forums talking about them and how popular they think they will be. I have had it translated and its pretty interesting!! One is in French and the other in Dutch.
We feel very lucky to have been able to get these dwarves. Its been pretty crazy and exciting, I cant wait to hatch these out and make them available to the world.
Yes, they will hatch in close to a month, thats if they hatch at "normal" Burm times.
I'm sad to say it hasn't been all fun, there has been some resentment from a bigger breeder. Although I consider myself lucky, it has been very stressful. I'm fairly new in this business but I found out fast just what kind of people are in this business. Most are good people, but there are some that it seems will do anything to ruin their competition.
Anyway, please ask any questions you may have about the dwarf burms.
Thanks for your interest

Hi, my real name is Damon (just so you know. I don't know if you caught the drama in the retic forum, but I don't want this coming up again and again)
That's great, I would love to come see them firsthand. What state are you in? If you are in California I am just a hop skip and a jump away and would be able to come any time.
So that was true then that the buzz on these is global. Is this because you have them advertised? Or is it just a word of mouth thing from posting in American forums?
Resentment from a bigger breeder?? LOL. That is not surprising. The way it sounds you are the only person with these. I would wager that EVERY breeder in the world would be envious and resentful. Hell,.. I must say, I am so jealous I am turning green. ha ha. And I wouldn't doubt for a SECOND that some less than honorable individuals in the business would try to ruin you. After all, this makes you SERIOUS competition. And there are a lot of big breeders that don't want more competition. What I experienced in the 80's was utterly ruthless, but it pales in comparison with what I have witnessed since getting back into this business 2 years ago. Now that the industry is a mega-multimillion dollar market, it is downright cutthroat. Trust no one Savannah.
I can't WAIT to see all of these tiny dwarves crossed into the current morphs. That is going to be SO awesome. And if I can get a pair of these from you, or even just a single male, I can begin working on those very projects. I already assume that you are going to be doing this too. Are you working on bat eater dwarfs? Kauadi to burm dwarf? That would be TIGHT! If you wouldn't mind posting about some of the projects you're working on I'd be interested to hear about them.

Hi, my real name is Damon (just so you know. I don't know if you caught the drama in the retic forum, but I don't want this coming up again and again)
Ok, well, I Damon.. You were pretty much a non believer. So Im glad you have recognized these for what they are. Thank you.
That's great, I would love to come see them firsthand. What state are you in? If you are in California I am just a hop skip and a jump away and would be able to come any time.
No, Im not in California. But Im sure we could work something out. We have had a few people come and check them out.
So that was true then that the buzz on these is global. Is this because you have them advertised? Or is it just a word of mouth thing from posting in American forums?
Yes, its true. Its global. The people had heard about them from others, American forums, and my webpage.
Resentment from a bigger breeder?? LOL. That is not surprising. The way it sounds you are the only person with these. I would wager that EVERY breeder in the world would be envious and resentful. I know believe me. I have seen it and dealt with it first hand and it has to stop, its just not right to do these things to another person. Its called greed.

Of course we are working on pure dwarf bateaters. If you breed a dwarf burm to a dwarf retic, you should get a dwarf bateater. We are also working on mixing the dwarf burms with all known and some unknown morphs. We have several wild caught morphs such as albino and granite to cross into the dwarves. This will make them unrelated to anything else. We have a few new morphs that we will be putting into dwarf also.
This is the cool part, we keep most of our dwarf burms in rack systems, like sweater boxes, similar to what adult balls are kept in. The have room and do fine in them.
Thanks

Thanks for taking the time to answer all of my annoying questions. That in and of itself is super cool. There are breeders I have known for years that when asked multiple questions via email or post they jot down a single sentence pertainig only to the sale at hand and ignore any peripheral questions. It's so annoying when someone that you're shoveling out 20 or 30 grand to can't take the time to answer a few questions.
Yeah, I really didn't believe this when I first saw it. I just thought you were someone with undersized burmese making this up and trying to make a name for themselves. But when you posted those pictures with the female on eggs (albeit duds) with the ball python in the picture for scale, I was blown AWAY and really, not a single doubt remained. I admit, I was instantly awash with envy, but I would never even think of doing something to try to hinder or undermine you. What has been done to you so far and by whom? You don't have to take that you know. You have rights. And I can relate to this. You still haven't said whether or not you saw the drama in the retic forum, but I spent several days trying to clear things up because SO many negative rumors had been spread about me by competitors. Ultimately, however, I don't take things to the court,... I bring them to the person's doorstep. But if you are the suing type, you have rights protecting you against defamation and slander.
Not in Cali huh? Well then I guess I'll just have to fly out. I won't have a lot of free time to do that until December. I hope you still have something available by then. If you feel that you may not, I'll make an exception and figure out a way to get there. (where is "there" by the way? what state?)
Wow,. true dwarf bat eaters! That is going to be so incredible. Man,. my head is spinning with the other possibilities. This is certainly a moment in reptile history unfolding here. Just a thought, if you haven't thought of it already, the smaller species of af-rock (Natalensis) would cross well into these dwarfs for a rock/burm dwarf hybrid. That could produce some clutches of some 5000 dollar babies from female natalensis' you picked up for 300 each, lol.
Post some more pics whenever you get the chance. I will never tire of seeing these guys.

Remember, not all the eggs were “duds”. There were some good eggs too.
I don’t want to say yet who it is. It is someone that everyone in this business knows. I just want to be left alone and my advertising account reinstated! If both of those happen then it will be over. I know I don’t have to take it and have taken steps to have it stopped via legal channels.
I have seen the stuff in the retic forum here on kingsnake and the same stuff on another retic forum on another popular website’s message board. I believe you because similar things have happened to me. I just want it to stop!!
Not in Cali huh? Well then I guess I'll just have to fly out. I won't have a lot of free time to do that until December. I hope you still have something available by then. In Arizona… When ever you have the time, let me know. I don’t think we will have anything left by Dec. There is a lot of big breeders waiting for these babies.

Yes, we are excited about producing these too. We aren’t sure if we want to cross the African rocks into these or not. I’m not too sure about different hybrids. Some have suggested breeding them to ball pythons and also blood pythons. How much do the current crosses burm x afrock go for?
Post some more pics whenever you get the chance. I will never tire of seeing these guys.
No Problem..

I had NO idea it was that serious. That's intense! You had your account tampered with?? In this website? Or another? Unless they were directly connected to the website, I can't see who could do that. If it were this website maybe there was just a problem with something. I don't know of any big breeders with vested interest in this website. (though I have a couple of main suspects otherwise that may have influence) But then again,.. you really don't need to advertise these. They sell themselves, you know?
Arizona? Cool,. I can probably just drive. I am only about 4 hours from the border near Blyth. I'll email you soon about this.
Current afrock/burm hybrids (50/50) may go for as much as 1000 each if they are really good looking hybrids that clearly show both species melded together. Natalensis is a very small subspecies of afrock and would cross well with a dwarf burm.
I personally doubt that bloods or balls are closely related enough to cross with a burm,.. but I suppose it doesn't hurt to try,.. and I would love to see either of those. That would be killer.
Good luck on everything. Email me any time if you want any additional (and top secret) thoughts on breeding and breeding projects. BrianSmithReptiles@hotmail.com

I don’t have a doubt they could cross. Bloods come from the very same areas that Burms do. Bloods have been crossed with Balls before.

Thanks. Sorry for the delay in response. Its pretty busy here with orders and getting all the new morphs out in the wild. We will also be having new and unseen burm morphs. Burms are back for sure. They are one of the most popular snakes already so there is a solid foundation. Other than balls, arguably Burms are the most popularly kept snakes in the country, maybe the world. There hasn’t been any new Burms available for sometime now. Since the granite and granite crosses. There still hasn’t been albino green granite, albino green lab., albino granite lab etc. There is so much more that can be done with the current burms. Now lets ad Dwarf and the other new morphs, plus our wild caught albinos and granite to strengthen the current captive lines. When a morph originates from just 1 or 2 or 3 animals, the gene pool is very limited. We currently have a very high white wild caught albino and a high yellow one too, both males, both ready to breed. http://www.morphspecialties.com/albinoburm.html The burm market is going to roll over like new.
Thanks Savannah

Sorry,. got caught up in the moment, ha ha.
No kidding,. I just can't WAIT to get some of these. I really don't care what I will have to pay, (within rational reason of course, lol) I must have them. I think it is going to be So neat to have colonies of little 7 and 8 foot albino granite females and whatever else burm-wise. It will be so cool. I will never stop breeding the giants, of course,.. that is my passion,.. but these little guys are going to be awesome to work with too.
I am going to go see them soon. We just have to work out details on when to go and etc.

I like the idea of a dwarf burmese and dwarf retics but have sevral concerns that its probaly still to early to arnswer.
1, if indeed they are true dwarfs and are bred to varius morphs from the giants how do you know for sure its still a dwarf?
2, I no someone with a dwarf retic and its growing way to big to soon and not far behind a normal one he has, do we really know at the moment that these dwarfs aint going to have rapid growth and potental huge size?
