I have had my anoles for about 2 years, and have done well with thier food and care..
I have a feeling what I am going to ask is going to be a no, but would rather find some info before trying anything...
We are so over run with thee Asian Beetles that look like lady bugs, but are orange around our home right now. I can't help but wonder if I could use them to feed my anoles...
I would think that thier shells might be to hard for them..
If anyone can give me any info it would be great... Thanks

Whatever you do, don't feed wild insects with bright coloration. In invertebrate world, brilliant colors are mostly warning signs against predators. Therefore, it's possible that they're very toxic. Stick with the usual food you've been giving it to them. It's your best bet.

Tim, thanks for the info, and I will stick with what seems to work....
Just hoping to get rid of those beetles in a useful way..LOL

Good luck. And remember, nutrition is very vital, since many reptiles in captivity can die in horrible ways due to the loss of nutrition (I read the January 2000 issue of REPTILES magazine, and a picture of dead leopard gecko is shown, looking totally mutilated due to nutrition loss ).

as already been posted colors are warnings. Dod you live in New England??? I'm in NH and we get them every year. But b/c my cham is sometimes out of her cage on her jungle gym I now vacuum the asian lady beetles up (they are lady beetles, just a diff species form asia). That smell when you disturb them is also a warning. In past years I have just put them on my plants or let them stay, but not with Luna on the loose!

remember the orangee/black thing. bright colors in general. You were smart to ask!
