Silly question but...how do you chop an earthworm exactly? I know this is the best food for a baby newt but I tried chopping one up yesterday and just grossed myself out.

Yeah, it's gross. The best way I've found it to use a plastic lid (from a tub of yogurt) as a chopping block, and a straight edge razor blade. I chop the newt several times very quickly, so it dies fast.
By "chop the newt several times" I'm sure she meant worm, not newt.

Hope my opinions help,

I'm sure that Jen means worm rather than newt when she refers to chopping. rdb

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried the chopping block thing. Still very gross...but it works. I have also began to simply dig up my yard until I find small ones they can eat. After about two hours of digging holes my new neighbor came by to ask if I had lost some buried treasure or something. It was quite entertaining.
Thank you again.
*SHARP* scissors work well if you don't need the pieces too fine.
