you can see pictures on my website under enclosures. Mine is a 55 gallon tank with sand substrate. I also have rock hides, a cave, food dish and now a place for them to lay eggs this spring. My baby is in a 20 gallon long, with paper towels some rock hides a low food dish and also a cocnut hide. He is tiny tho.
Good luck

This is the old picture that I have of Arthur's cage - 80 gallon. The cage has changed a lot since then, but it's still an ok setup. Now I have a large grapewood log in there for her to climb on and in (it's mostly hollow). And I took out the mangrove thing, the grapevine, and some of the rocks to make running room. I'm also using millet now instead of playsand. Joe is in a temporary setup until he's acclimated and verified cootie-free. Eventually he'll move in, too.

Here's "Tank's" cage

I like the way Tank's tank looks! How large is it? And are your cacti living?

Hi,
its roughly 5.5 x 6.5 ft. The walls are made of coated wood, the bottom is PVC and the front of course is glass. The Pic is old. Since some years I have added several flexible tubings opening into the wooden walls of the enclosure and ending outside in sand filled hiding boxes. This provides a system of tunnels and hidings which comes quite close to the natural situations and allows easy controlling of the Uros.
Also they do lay their eggs in one of these boxes which is kept slightly humid. So egg removal is easy. The enclosure is located directly underneath a window and has full sunlight for several hours a day. I attached a mirror to the opposite wall of the room, which reflects sunlight down into the enclosure for more hours in the evening.
Only additional lights are a 36 W flourescent light and a 150 W Metal halide (NDL).
The enclosure holds about 300 kg of sand (mixture of playsand/Dune sand and a lot of weight in rocks.
And I admit: This is a mixed species tank.
You may shout me down, but the pair of U. a. nigirventris gets along very well with the pair of Timon lepidus. The latter help to keep the population of Gryllodes sigillatus which do multiply in the tank low. Also the free roaming Cosymbotus do help in this and use the rock piles to hide their eggs.
Uros and Jewelled Lacertas do not interfere and both species breed well. The female Tomon now carries her fourth clutch since July.
