my dad had an iguana when he was little and a couple books about them.
in there i found what the old diet was

60 % iceberg lettice or butter lettice or spinnach
20 % meat (cat food, dog food,mealworms)
20 % fruit

i cant belive my dads iguana lived a happy 23 year life from this diet

Yes when I was a kid I had one for about 10 years on a similar diet. Just shows what hardy critters they are.
