How do you make the background in your pictures black?

In the imitator picture it was just luck. I was taking the picture from above, and the room was dark other than the tank so the background ended up being dark/black. If you notice in my other pictures the background is more of the tank. One thing you coud try would be to put a piece of black velvet on the back or side of the tank to try tanking a picture from the other side or top to get a black background.

That is cool. I don't know if I can do that because when I use my super macro, the flash is disabled....so I need some back lighting. Good picture by the way.

Thanks,
Matt

You may want to try turning off the macro (so you can use the flash) and then using manual focus, if you can.
