Looking for a reptile vet

spayne May 29, 2003 11:32 PM

Hi, all!

I live in Springfield and I'm looking to find a vet who actually knows something about reptiles. I'm a bit concerned about my beardie and some odd yellow spots she has developed on her back. I'm hoping it's not that dreaded "yellow fungus" stuff that I've read about.

Anyhow, I'm willing to drive anywhere off I5... Medford to Portland. As long as the vet knows what they're doing!

Thanks in advance!
Stacy

Hello, I too am in Springfield. THE best Reptile vet in the area is CatCare LTD. They have a vet tech that is great.

The phone: 302-5824

hope they can help..

Thanks so much for all your advice! I think I'll give Cat Care Ltd. a call and get Rizz checked out.

Just wanted to thank you all again for your help in finding a vet. I took her to Cat Care Lmt. in Eugene and was very happy with the veterinarian. Granted, she didn't know what the yellow spots are, but she gave me some nolvason to put on it once a day for a couple weeks, just in case it is fungal. Although the black light didn't show it being as such.

Rizz does have coccidia and some other sort of worm... we're going in Monday to get the meds and be shown how to administer it. I'm looking forward to disinfecting her tank every day until the coccidia is under control. *sigh*

And I was very happy to find that I can take in fecals without having to take my snakes in, unless they're sick of course. Then they'd have to go. So I'm just happy all the way around! This vet is ~so~ much better than the other one I went to.

So thanks again! You guys are great... I'm a fan!
