EMERGENCY! Rat or mouse gnawed hatchling Redfoot.

cod6545 Nov 01, 2003 12:56 PM

Hey- This morning, I put my two hatchling Redfoots out in their pen just like I always do. Around 2:00 I went out to shoot a little video of them. As I zoomed in with my camera, my brother and I noticed one of the Reds was missing four toes on his back left foot. Anything I should do? He's walking around, but his foot is white and very soft. How should I bandage it? Can the rat pass on disease? Thanks. Brooks

i don't know how to treat it but,i had a boxie that was missing almost all her toes and she was just fine. as of how to treat it i don't know i would put an antibiotic cream on her until you could get her looked at. i am a newbie to torts but i think some kind of neosporin or somthing would help, until you get more advice.
