My cham isn't eating...well he is but....

djfuente Nov 01, 2003 03:16 PM

he's only eating wax worms. He had been a little sick lately and he also had not been eating because of it. Now, I bought him some wax worms because he became bvery skinny and I knew that those might fatten him up. Well, good news is that he eats them, the bad news is that it is all he eats now. I am scared of feeding him only worms because I know that they are high in fat, so what do I do? Should I try mealworms?

By all mean, try mealworms! Chameleons seem to like mealworms a lot, and rarely gets bored of eating them...mine at least. And yes, silkworms work well too. I have a merumontanus that doesn't want to eat anything else but waxworms, so i started feeding him silkworms, and silkworms only, and after about 10 days or so, he started eating other stuff like crickets again. I think the silkwomrs did help him gain his appetite back.

Bencham, what do you mean silkworms can "be gutloaded quite well" ? As far as i know, you can't gutload silkworms...merely feed them...did i misunderstand you? If i did..i apologize.
