Goanna Ranch
East Bay Vivarium
Varanus Creations
Im sure lots of other people too...those are just the first three that come to mind.

They seem to be good captives from what I hear. Im still am curious about the question I asked below though. Not to say that Argus a super cheap, but Ive seen them consistanly in the 150. range. Seems like the same as crossing a pilbara with a Flav... Hmmmmm

if you look at it from my veiw they are smaller than most argus and calmer. and they have some great patterns and they are alot cheaper than pure v.flavi. in all i think that makes a pretty nice monitor. not to mention how bold and hardy these species are.

really i have no idea why breeders cross these to great animals it would be alot better if they kept the blood lines clean. but then agian the blood lines are probaly not "clean" to begin with.

I just recieved a baby from ben seigel reptiles on friday. it is perfect! And it is a great eater (like most).
But I thought you were interested in black throats? I you do decide to get an argus cross be very sure that you can provide proper caging, lighting, heat pats for additional heat, and a hefty food bill. I am willing to bet that an argus could out eat a bt and need a larger enclosure.

well i'm looking at all my options but i have to tell you the crosses are great i spent a hour just looking at the agus and sand monitors down at prehistoric pets. i just love these guys! i have a 7' long X 3.5 X 2.5 tall cage in my room for this monitor thats ok for this guy right? i am thinking of turning the cage on its side and filling it half way full of pink breeze(decomposed granit). would that be better? the food thing is ok i get $20 a week to spend on my reptiles (pair of timors, pair of ackies, a savannh, pair of jungle carpet pythons and a spotted python)and the handling thing well no monitor likes to be handled, but they all have their own personalities so are calmer than others. it all depends on the animal and how much you work with it.

if i'm wrong please corect me.
thanks
