Has anyone ever fed guppies to their dragons? I haven't heard about anyone feeding them to dragons. Just wondering. My female bearded dragon is such a pig! We bought 2 rats (day old) and she ate both of them. Is this healthy for her? Thanks.

NO!! Sorry, but your beardie isn't a garbage disposal..
Pinkies aren't a good idea and guppies even worse. Too much fat (pinkies) will cause fatty liver disease. These are desert animals, guppies are out of the question. Both could give yur beardie parasites.
Feed your dragon fresh dark leafy greens, crickets and worms as a treat.

They only get pinkies as a treat. Like once a moth to every other month. I know that they are bad for them if fed only pinkies. About the guppies, I have heard of people feeding goldfish, and thought that maybe guppies could be fed to younger beardies.
Chemicals are added to water for fish. It's just not a good idea, besides parasites that they can carry.

Goldfishes are probably one of the nastiest things you can feed your pets. Guppies are much better than goldfish but are not necessary. In fact, I would go as far as to say they're bad for them. Bearded dragons DO NOT eat fish in the wild and should not be fed fish in captivity.
As for pinkies. Most people do not feed pinkies. I believe in older bearded dragon literature, it is recommended, but in this time and age, the only time I've heard of pinkies being fed is after the female lay her eggs and only a select few does this. Why do you feel the need to feed them rodents?
Why not? I do not think that the occasional guppy would hurt. After all none of us feed these guys anything close to what they get down under. I wonder how many eat tadpoles and killifish in the short rainy season in the arid areas. As most desert animals are oportunistic feeders and when the rains come out come the fish in every puddle as well as tadpoles, when those puddles begin to dry up the piles of wrigglers are feasted on by a variety of animals I would have to think that pogona would partake as well. Guppies are pretty similar to a killi in size ect. so why not. As for chemicals I would say your risk is greater using any produce than with a tropical fish, the exception would be home grown stuff. As for parasites, I would also think that commercial crickets would be as likely or more likely infect your beardie than a guppy.

well rat pups are healthier than mice i don't reccomend it for beardies.. nor do i reccomend guppies.. granted they are better than goldfish any day.. they just don't have much in them to even bother to get some.
your dragon for the parasites and/or diseases that might exist in a ten gallon tank filled with 500 guppies, go for it.
Seriously, if your dragon gets sick from a normal diet, your vet probably has a pat answer. If you're feeding it guppies, what does your vet look for if it gets sick, after ruling out coccidia, pin worms, round worms, etc.?
