Hello all,
I was browsing around the other day and came across an interesting product made by T-Rex called the "snake sausage". Has anyone here fed these things to their snakes, particularly boids? I read an article recently which mentioned that some problem feeders do better on sausages. They also have a "mouse maker", which scents the sausage to encourage feeding.
The snake in question would be a ball python. I'm not squeamish about feeding f/t mice, and I realize that some snakes probably wouldn't accept the sausages at all, but I'm looking into it for a few reasons:
My parents are not particulary fond of the idea of frozen mice being kept in their freezer, or of accepting the fact that snakes eat "cute, fuzzy rodents". If it makes it easier for them to tolerate the snake's presence, so be it.
If the claims that sausages actually help bad feeders are true, this may help in the keep of a ball python, considering their feeding reputation. 'Course, it could also backfire and they may not accept the sausage at all.
Personal preference aside, is there any nutritional/health reason not to feed sausage? Thank you very much in advance for any info you may have! ^_^
