Blue Iguana? Too Thin?

SouthernBel Nov 02, 2003 07:41 AM

Hey, I just recieved a beautiful iguana, Guru, from a friend who had gotten him without any knowledge about iguanas and couldn't handle him. Guru is a nice green color with a banded tail, but he has a gorgeous blue head! Is he just a blue morph green iguana, or is he a blue iguana, or what? I can't seem to find the information I am looking for anywhere on the web. Also, he seems to be kind of thin to me. How can I tell if he is too thin, and how can I encourage him to eat better? As a note: I am giving him the proper lighting and food recommended for a green iguana. Thanks! Bel

I finally came upon an explaination of color variations by Melissa Kaplin and through that determined that my sweet little Guru is quite simply a green iguana with a blue head. And he is eating great now, he must of just needed to settle in. Thanks anyway! Bel
