Land speed

hemicide Nov 02, 2003 01:27 PM

Yesterday Goliath was out of his tank, a little farther to the left than in this picture, completely out of the water, except for his tail. I have never seen him move his body at any speed other than real slow.
The water in his tank was a little low so I got the hose to refill it while he remained very still. I thougt I might as well rinse off his back algae while I was at it. As soon as the spray of water hit his shell he spun left and hit the water so fast it was like watcing an alligator spring to life. My wife and I were amazed how fast he move on land.

Goliath, 111 lbs., last time I checked
