NEW TO BEARDIES

Hey, I was wondering what size aquarium do you need to house one adult beardie? I know the lighting and feeding needs, but I need to know if I even have the room to house one. I have a fourty gallon breeder and a 50 gallon which one would suite an adult better? Thanks for your time.

Hello,

I keep my adult male in a 50 gallon breeder. It has the exact same dimesions as a 40 breeder, except its a little bit taller. a 40 breeder is the absolute minumum for one adult beardie, so either one would be fine. I would go with the 50 though, so you can give a little more climbing room. Good luck!

I would go with the one with the most floor space, something like 4'x2'x2 would be ideal. THe height could be lower, as low as 18" would be fine. Need some height to ensure the baskig light or UVB fixture is high enough so the dragon can't touch them.
