Heating

I have a 55gal tank i plan to house a 3 1/2 boa the tank has glass sides but acrylic bottom...
so i was wondering the best setup in heating source?
heat pad? or will that warp the bottom?

I use rubbermaid tubs with heating pads for the quaritine period for my animals and haven't had a problem. Of course, you don't want to crank up the heat either. But, heating pads really aren't meant to be on all of the time. For a more permanent set-up, a heat mat made especially for the purpose of terrarium heating and your choice of temp. control unit would be better.
