I'm just wondering why most people seem to use some
alias name (like something you'd have on a license plate),
instead of just their name? I notice it's more so now
than on the old forum system. I've been on this forum
for over 5 years and there aren't many people I recognize
on here and their specific animals. I mean, most of the
time I can't even tell if it's a man or woman. Is it
some "anonymous" thing to avoid stalkers or what? niki
I'm including my website since I finally added some
newer pics.

I think it's a question of anonimity. I used to use a variation of my middle name because my real name (Sohni) is unusual and I did worry about being too easy to track down. I finally did a search and there are too many other hits for the name to be able to narrow it down to just me, unless you also knew my last name, which is even more unusual. I'm 99.9% certain I'm the only person in the U.S. and probably the world with my first and last name, which is why I don't use both in online forums. Maybe just too much interaction with odd people in the past (and I don't mean anybody here!!).

I use Mafia after my old turtles name (Alligator Snapping Turtle),187 because that was my 187th pet(all my other ones were fish or rodents)and turtle because that is one of my favorite animals.My real name is Josh.

I use this forum name because I get sick of everybody saying my name all day at school.(I hate high school)lol!

Well it was mostly fish and rodents but now I am heavily into the exotics and its about 15 that are with me now.Those were just my past animals.My mom used to work at a pet store and...well I got a lot of free sick animals and revived them.Once gave a water dragon cpr.Dont know how to list things correctly but here is the pets I have now.

3 dogs-Boxer/Doxon/Cairn Terrier(Puppies)
4 turtles-Common Snapping Turtle/Pink Alligator Snapper/2 Red Ear sliders(Hatchlings)
3 torts-2 Russians(Adults)/1 Sulcata(Hatchling)
1 snake-Brazillian Red Tail Boa(Adult)
4 rats-4 bald rats(Adults)

I am 15 and not wealthy but I do have my own little business.That helps me get the things I need to take care of my pets.I improvised on a lot of things to.The pet store owner loved my mom and tried to get to her by giving me tanks,pets,money,and a lot of other stuff.So I use some of the things he gave me.The fish he used to give me would go straight to my turtles.I also have a attic and an extra room which helps space wise.My mom helps me quite a bit to by cleaning and stuff.Selling baby turtles around here-to loving homes of course-will put some extra cash in your wallet.That works for me.I have to give my cairn terrier away because she attacks my doxon.I got an offer for my snake and rats.

Selling baby turtles is my little business.That is why I have 2 red ear sliders.They are my breeders.Dont worry about spelling or grammer because I am failing my english class and all my other classes.I sometimes buy 10 lots of baby red ear sliders and sell them for $20 each.Quick money.When I am older I want to sell turts torts and other animals.

Fisher was my nick-name in high school, and k2 is my favorite brand of snowboard equipment. Otherwise, my name is Amanda. I think it is just kind of fun to be able to make up a name for yourself. Lots of times you can tell a lot about a person's interests from their online name, and if you don't have a clue about what a name could mean, it's always interesting to ask and find out.
