Personally I think it would take away from the mandarin. They are already one of the best looking snakes around and mixing it seems as if it would detract from the overall look.
This would be another one for the waste of a good snake if crossed bunch to me. Granted some hybrids look great but here I can't see it looking anything but worse. I would also imagine it would be very tough if not impossible to pull off since the mandarin is old world and from what i understand not very closely related at all.

Those two snakes are not closely related at all, IMO. They may be related somewhat but not enough. It would be like trying to breed a ball python to a GTP.
