still having poo problems

deetu Nov 02, 2003 08:56 PM

The vet had told me that it would take a few weeks after his last worming for his system to get back to normal but it has been a month and it still is really wet.

This is really the only vet that knows remotely anything about reptiles but I wasn't impressed when he met Merling the first time. It was a kinda, poke here, look there and he appears to be in good health. And charged more then what I paid for him in the first place.

Merlin looks really great other then the wet stool. He's 4 months. Growing, doubled his size (12 inches now) Shed twice already. Eating well, crickets, pellets, and greens.

By the way, his stool was watery when we first got him but started to get solid before the worming.

So, since I trust the opinion of people who have Beardies over the vet who may have learned about lizards, could anyone give me any suggestions on what is going on with him? I'm gonna bring in another stool to see if the worms are at least gone.

We also started to give him some of the good bacteria needed in case the Panacur killed that too.

I have an adult male here that arrived sick and has never been right. He has been treated for one thing or another for months now. His poops were always like "rusty water". It has been a little over a month since his last treatment and finally it looks like things are starting to "thicken up" a bit. Using the probiotic is a good idea and it does help. As long as his appetite is good and activity level is good, I wouldn't be too concerned yet.
