Does anyone know why Spiney's tend to be more aggressive than Smooth softshells? Or is this just my opinion? I have one of each (hatchlings) in the same tank and the spiney is always trying to attack the smooth. The smooth promptly burys itself in the sand and has escaped any visible bites to my knowledge thus far. Any ideas on what I should do? Do florida's tenmd to be less aggressive than spiney's? If so, I may sell my spiny and get a florida. I just bought a brand new 55 gallon so I don't think space is the issue here considering there the size of a quarter.
