Getting anxious

Noodle_Boy Nov 02, 2003 10:25 PM

Well, I bought 100 meal worms today at the petstore. I have them housed in a plastic shoe box with air holes cut into the lid. Thanks to all the info constantly posted on here, I decided on their gutload. It includes a mix of nonfat powdered milk, baby rice cereal, wheat germ, and oat bran, with a bit of ESU gut load mix sifted in. Also have some sliced baby carrots on top of a bit of paper towel. Right now the little things are sitting in the fridge all the more adding to my anxiety. Damn having to wait until wednesday to finally get my gecko shipped in. Oh well I'm sure it will be worth the wait. I really hope my gutload will be sufficient to feed my little friend with.

PS- Pardon my rambling/ranting about stuff I'm pretty sure few care about, just looking for a way to bleed off my anxiety little by little. =)

It could be my misunderstanding, but what I do is leave the mealies out of the refridgerator, and on one of my desks so under a lamp to heat them up so that they can eat and such. If you leave them in the refridgerator they "hibernate" and wont eat......

I think......Don't take my word for it, ask around.

just take them out of the fridge every couple days for a couple hours. theyll warm and eat then can go back to fridge. you should take the ones out your going to feed 24 hours in advance and leave out in gutload until you feed them to your gecko(s).

Yea, you see I have them in the fridge now so they won't grow at all until my leo gets in. The day before he's scheduled to come in I plan to take the mealies out so that they will wake up and start eating their gutload. Thanks for the concern though.
