Can you feed wc rodents to snakes safely?

rudedogsurfrat Nov 02, 2003 10:51 PM

I found mouse droppings in my garage and house today. I got a victory mouse trap and was wondering if you can kill a wild mouse, freeze it, and feed it to a snake. Can this be safe??

I don't know where you live, but here in the southwest USA, we have hanta virus and plague. While freezing will kill parasites and I can't think of anything that is transmissable between snakes and rodents, it may well be that the biggest risk is to you and your family.
