newbie to ADFs! any advice?

x1angelbabyx Nov 02, 2003 11:42 PM

hi all,

after a month of deciding, i finally plan on getting an ADF this week. i have a 2.5 gallon tank which will house 1 ADF. i also plan to have a couple fake plants in there, as well as a little funny shaped rock he can hide by. i plan to feed him every other day with frozen blood worms and freeze-dried blood worms. the water temps will most likely be between 74F - 84F depending on the time of day (that's the temp range for my fighting fish's 2.5gal tank). any advice or tips? i've read a few ADF care sheets from google & from this forum, so hopefully i'll do fine. so far i have 2 fire belly toads that are about 8 - 10 months old and are still doing fine the other animals i have are listed in my signature all your help will be greatly appreciated thanks!

I would skip out on the freeze dried blood worms and replace that with some frozen brine shrimp

Hi,

I agree, a complete bloodworm diet may make the frog ill as it has been known that lots of bloodworms can cause bloat. A varied diet is very important.

Yes, they love them. I feen mine a staple of tubifex worms. Just make sure to rinse the worms every day or so.
