for the taxonomy
Taipan Taxonomy - New subspecies
You will find RELIABLE information on the Genus Oxyuranus in the following texts:
The Biology & Evolution of Australian Snakes (1997) Allen Greer. Surrey Beatty & Sons, Chipping Norton, NSW.
Australian Animal Toxins (1999) Struan Sutherland & Jim Tibballs. Oxford University Press, Melbourne, VIC.
Handbook of Clinical Toxicology of Animal Venoms and Poisons (1995) Juerg Meier and Julian White, CRC Press.
For detailed toxinological data I recommend you search via Medline. The genus has been studied extensively and there are numerous high quality referred papers available depending on how specific your requirements happen to be.
I am happy to answer specific questions or provide PDF's of papers that you are specifically interested in.
Cheers

Hmmm this one is a bit harder and I would suggest you direct your question to Dr Wolfgang Wuster (w.wuster@bangor.ac.uk) as the only time I have heard this term is in reference to a therapy used to treat menstruation problems in women by a handful or so of homeopaths.
I am certainly not aware of a species known as Vipera acontica carinata (perhaps it is an old name now synonymised?) however it could perhaps be a reference to the saw scaled viper (Echis carinata) whose venom certainly contains toxins active against the coagulation cascade.
Cheers
David
