Persoally I have never had much of a problem with them (except a couple of w/c that were slow to take mice. I keep them the same as I would a ratsnake (except roomier quarters). One of the advantages of South Fla is our climate is not far off their native one. Where are you?

I had a 6 ft male wild caught Cribo for 5 years (this was in the early 90's), very easy to keep if you don't mind cleaning the cage 2-3 times a week. They have quite the metabolism compared to some of the other colubrids and boids. Mine ate prekilled mice or rats in large quantities and was very active in the cage. Strong feeding response but he never bit or struck while I was handling him. I used under tank heat at around 85 degrees at the hot end with a cool end of 75 to 70. No real humidity issues that I witnessed (I live in a relatively humid area). He'd soak before he shed and if it didn't come off cleanly (rare occasion) I'd dampen the newspaper substrate and that would do the trick. I really enjoyed keeping the snake- the constant clean up was the only down side.
