Jackson Cham questions.

VoodooDragon May 30, 2003 09:16 AM

Okay, I've researched my cajones off, and there are some things I just can't find answers to. So, I need to know the answers before I get a cham, obviously.

1) I know WHAT to feed them, but HOW OFTEN? I don't know to feed 3x a day, or 3x a week? And how much? How often do I dust without worrying of ODing him on D3 or underdosing?

2)I work 3rds, so I'll be awake at night when it's sleepy time for him. Can I cover his cage with a light sheet to keep light out at night? Kinda like people do with birds?

3) I know I'm supposed to take them outside, but would it also work to have him near an open(sceened) window? As long as the breeze isn't cold, of course. And does it have to be direct sunlight? Like, if I have an Eastern window, it'd only be useful to have him near it in the AM, because that's when sun comes in.

A'ight. Thanks.

jax should be fed everyday as babies, and at least offered food everyday - i would say 6-10 crix as a baby, and 4-6 as an adult - i know my dwarf panthers eat between 6-10 a day

a sheet is a good idea to keep te light out, or move the cge to a room where there wont be a light on

you can take it outside, but make sure it is in a bird cage, or you are keeping an eye on it for birds

hope this helps!

Hi Irish,

Putting the cage near a window can be a good thing - but the only way they will get the benefit from sunlight is if the glass is open. Window glass is specially treated to prevent UVB - as it fades furniture, draperies, etc.

Some chams are intimidated by near-window placement - so be watchful of your chams reaction to it.

The sheet is a good idea for nighttime...
