Unless a private person is doing something for their own info (such as building a case for changing an export quota) I don't think any such study has been done for any species other than parsoni. There has been some work done on where different species are still found in the wild, but it is very broad in scope. Some info is very much "wishful thinking" and biased depending on the motivation for collecting the data. Chris A. do you know of any recent work?

This is the most current one that I know of. There are those that have issues with it but it is the most complete study to date. It was sponsored by the IUCN.

Thanks Chris! I was wracking my brain to remember Dr. Brady's report. As he doesn't have connections with import/export interests there his work is less "colored" than some. If anyone cares it is probably the best report to read on the subject.
