Brumation?

MikeHook Nov 03, 2003 02:45 PM

I picked up a male bearded dragon on Thursday the 30th of Oct. He is 15 inches and conpletely checked out at the store for eating and overall health (very alert and responsive). By Friday afternoon he became very lathatrgic. He has slowed down considerably and now when he wlaks it is very much like a monitor lizard in that it appears slow and labored. I have done all the temp checks, I even hydrated him for an hour. The only thing that I can think of is that he is going into brumation. Can anyone help me here so that I feel more confidant in letting him go about his business normally or should I take him to a vet?

Any time they walk strangely, I think of calcium deficiency. Is he getting Calcium with d3? And a UVB light?
