Help identifing frogs' eggs

MyNameIsAl May 30, 2003 09:43 AM

Two days ago, a friend and I collected this mass of black eggs. Some are cicular and still attached to the leaves. Others are longer and like thin ovals, these ones have settled to the bottom of the container. Some of the oval shaped ones twitch and move slightly(they contract, not really moving around). Are these frogs' eggs?

Sound like frog eggs to me,if they were attched to something when you found them. You cant really identify them now just wait until they hatch.
hope this helps.

Thank you...the ones that are twitching...does this mean they're close to hatching?

depending on the frog they can take anywhere from 7 to 14 days to hatch. just have some crushed fish flake ready for them when they do.

Yes, it means they will hatch soon, keep an eye on the eggs so you can see the embryos.
