Hi, I got one of those snazzy temp guns, a Raytek MT4. I am taking the temp with it and it shows 98 on his basking rock, yet if I target a piece of wood or the sand thats lower than the rock the temp shows higher. Should I actually be measuring the temp of his skin when hes in the basking location? I have put analog thermometers on the spot the digital one reads 98 and they say 110, which is what Ive always been going by. Can anyone shed some light on this? Also hes about 5 months old, is 110 a good temp? He also occasionally opens his mouth, I know this is to thermoregulate his temp, is it ok or is it a sign that hes too warm. Thanks for any help!!
Steve
