Spotted eating shed skin?

TwinkL1369 Nov 03, 2003 05:13 PM

Has anyone witnessed their salamander eating shed skin? Is this ok? I kinda had a tug-a-war with him trying to stop him. They're all well fed, maybe even a little to plump.

It is a way your salamander is regaining nutrients from its old skin. If it doesnt eat it, another salamander will. Its pretty normal and no cause for worry.
