if they stay in the bowl and dont die and poop everywhere its cool to keep them in the cage. You could probably feed them that oat meal cricket gut load thing and other oat products. are you planning on raising them? Other than that they should be fine without food for some time in the fridge, they hibernate. id throw some oats in there just to be sure.

Your mealworms should be fed gut-load. I have a gut-load list on my website. There are a few more things to the list that I have to add, but people use that or some other form or another of gut-load.

The mealworms can be kept in your leos enclosures in a dish overnight. There is nothing wrong with that.

most people use rolled oats with a slice of carrot or potato at the top for mosture. my gutload consists of a mix of different things people suggested to me on this forum. i have a little bit of oatmeal (from the store, but not the instant kind), some non-fat powdered milk, some wheat, some of my leo's calcium, some baby cereal, and some fish flakes. i put my mealies on top and they dig their way down... and then i put a small piece of paper towel on top with a slice of apple, sometimes a carrot for mosture (they go up for that).

you can leave some mealies in a dish in your leo's hide... just make sure they don't get out! if your leo leaves a couple of them behind, you can put some trex sandfire cricket gutload in the dish and the mealies keep chomping on it while they wait to be eaten~
