We Have Front Legs !!!

hicksonj Nov 03, 2003 06:42 PM

My green auratus tad just popped out his front legs. There are nice and healthy too. He is standing on all fours, just covering his head, where the water is shallow. I can't wait for him to start hopping around. As you can see, this is my first experience with tads and I am totally hooked

congrats, I can't wait for all my tads to morph out, it must be something to go through the whole experience and witness the whole life cycle.

How many days will it be before he absorbs enough of his tail (3/4?) to be placed in his new home?

Best idea would be to let him decide, place him in a 4 quart rubber maid that has 2-3 books stuck under one side, on the high side put some spaghnum moss on the high side so that most of it is high and dry and some of it trails into the water, add a potho cutting and he will walk out of the water when he is ready.
And here are the results
