Really good looking reptiles! That beardie has some killer colors.

It's really strange it's a "standard" colored one. It was just standard color for the first two months. But over the past two weeks it's been devolping a lot of reds and oranges. I'm not sure if it's just growing or if it has to do with the merc vapor light I just put in.
Yeah the mercury vaper bulbs do wonders for colors. I'm sure he has good genetics to boot though. Take care!

are bearded dragons and water dragons related?
Of course, every species on this planet is related, but if you mean related as in recent years(geological terms of course) yes they are, thats where the name Dragon comes from, if has the Dragon name on it, its probally related, probally not very closely though.
Water dragons are in the Iguanidae family, and Beardeds are in the Agamidae family. They are both in the same infraorder (iguania) though. The similarity in the common names doesn't reflect close relationships. They are about as close to one another as they are to chameleons, if that helps any.
Actually CWD's are an agama- nota iguanidea (or at least that's what my books have them classified as) so they are related to beardeds, mountain horns, agamas etc. Though really their care is completely different.
Now this might have changed since my book (1999- atlas of reptiles that huge mother 400 page thing) and my agama book (98?)
