I made the decision to Euthanise my Leopard Gecko today. MBD

dillon Feb 08, 2003 06:17 PM

You guys might remember a little while ago when I posted a pic of my leopard gecko with MBD. Well it got the best of her, I saw she wasn't getting any better and she has began to do a little shaking. So I decided it would be the most humane to euthanise her. I put the little girl in a box and put that in the freezer. It is the best way, Hypothermia kills quickly and painlessly, even having the vet inject her would have been more painful for her. I am going to bury her outside if I can dig a hole in the frozen ground. She is a lot skinnier now than in the picture and her joints were worse. The pic wasn't that long ago either.

freezing is NOT considered humane by any herp vets. in fact, it is probably extremely painful.

I must agree, Most painful to freeze to death, when you are an animal that is not used ot cold weather. I think a vet Euthanism would have been the best. But then again this is just my opinion
