Het. pied.......breeding weight?

boastud Nov 03, 2003 10:25 PM

Do you think that a 1071g 21 month old female will be large enough to breed in a month?

If given the chance to choose which would you take?
A. 1071 100% het pied female
B. 1500g 66% het pied female

I would wait on the lighter het female.............if you must breed..........go with the heavier poss het female..............1500 is a good weight to start at.

Good Luck!!

I just bought an 800g het pied male, so i don't know what to do.

Ralph Davis Nov 03, 2003 10:46 PM

Breed him to that 1500 gram 66%er female and make PIEDS!!!

Ralph,
so if you were in my shoes, would you get the poss and breed her now, or get the other and wait a year?

Ralph Davis Nov 03, 2003 10:55 PM

I would go with the 66% poss..........but only if I knew who produced it and all the details on it...........plus 1000 grams is too small...........it ain't even worth it.........

I have already nabbed a few boners trying to sell 00 and 01 hets that I have sold to them years ago...........they try to re-sell them "quietly"............the new buyer contacts me for details............I send the original pics............but the original pics from me do not match what are being sold at the time........that's a scam.........

I said all this assuming that you are buying these animals shortly.......

But why are you assuming that the male can only sire one female? If your smaller het was up to 1500g. I would say throw him at her too. But it sounds like you are trying to choose between the two, and that's kind of unnecessary because:

1) The het is too small.
2) Males sire multiple females with ease.

I can only afford one

Hmmm....good question. I'd say buy the het and wait a year. That's a tough one though man.
