I meant to say you can ask BAST who is on both forums and also has both animals.

Comparing Cyclura to Tegus is kinda like comparing apples to oranges. They are not very similar at all. I've been posed the question several times that if I could only keep one species what would it be? It's always a toss up between Tegus and Cyclura, but the monitors are inching their way up there too!
I keep 3 young adult Rhinos with a hatchling on it's way later this month, 2 young Cubans, and 2 adult lewisi hybrids. My favorite is the Rhinos because they are so full of personality. My 2 eldest are like having 2 more dogs in the house....they beg for food and attention. They are very interactive and seem to enjoy human companionship. All of my Cyclura are very tame but that doesn't happen on it's own. It takes time and lots of handling to get them that way. I wouldn't want an adult Cyclura around that had not been well socialized!!! They can inflict a nasty bite!

Husbandry is very similar to that of the Green Iguana and there is oodles of info on the internet about those. They do require a lot of horizontal space but that doesn't necessarily mean that they don't climb. Mine spend a lot of time off the floor in prime basking spots. If you would like more info please feel free to message me privately. I love to talk Cyclura!!

This shot is Bubbles, my oldest Rhino, a 6 year old female. She does a lot of educational appearances and in this shot she's hanging out at the Binder Park Zoo on Reptile Weekend. She had about 8000 people ogling over her in 2 days!

This is a photo taken at the Tinley Park show. I took Azul, the male hybrid, to be an ambassador for the Cyclura conservation table manned by the Chicago Herp Society. He was a big hit and attracted a lot of attention.
