buying 125 gallon tank----have questions

brokermonkey Nov 04, 2003 08:42 AM

ok, im going to buy a 125 gallon tank and leave an area for dirt/coconut bark. questions:

1-how do i seperate the area? i've seen people put plexiglass and i've tried using that silicone glue...anyway, it didnt stick, so i was wondering what you guys use

2-how deep does the dirt part have to be?, i dont want to seperate an area and have that WHOLE side with dirt...i'd like to put like a box or something so that it takes space

3-how wide does the dirt have to be? i'd like dimensions or something.

4-what should i use my waterland tub for? i was thinking about leaving it outside (i live in california) so that maybe when i'm outside (a couple hours a day or so) the turtle can have natural light---you think that's a good idea. or do you think the change would freak the turtle out?

5-what is THE BEST filter that i could use for 125 gallons?? i REALLY dont like those filters that have that waterfall effect. and i'm going to be saving a lot of money (and asking for money for christmas) so i dont think money will be a problem.

6-what is a good price for a 125 gallon tank? and i'd like to get one with a cabinet too. is it easy for those things to fall over? i have a big dog that runs a lot inside. and i'd like to use this tank to seperate the family room from the kitchen.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE IN ADVANCE!!!!!!

its really neat to talk to people that know a lot.

Hi. I had similar problems looking for a tank, but have recently found what seems to be a great resource for cheap tanks. The only problem is delivery, but I'm working on that. The site is www.glasscages.com. Hope this helps.
