How Many Owners of Large Alligator Snappers Still Around?

Accomplice Nov 04, 2003 09:18 AM

Hey guys. I haven't been on these boards in a while. How many people are here now that have large alligator snappers (25 lbs.)?

I have one alligator snapper that is around 19" straight shell length and 70 lbs.

I have a 35 pounder and an 85 pounder.

Most people took off I think.
Been pretty quiet lately.

Mike,

Do you have any pics of your turtles that you can post? Did you raise them from hatchlings years ago or buy as adults? How do you like handling the big one? Mine scares the heck out of me. Whenever I have to deal with him I keep thinking he'll scar the heck out of me.

My oldest is 128 pounds.

My father had him since he was a little over 2 inches, That was when he was 7.... he is now 42.

I am 16, He's a pretty old turtle....scares the life out of me...and my neibors =P.
