i was wondering what was the normal growth rate of a captive garter from baby to adult... After a year ? Two Year ? When does it stop ? HOw wide should it normally be ? I raed a post of a guy having one year old 75 cm and 90 cm garters...!!! Geez...mine aren't that big at all....about 14 months and aren't even 50 cm....EAstern garters...they look pretty happy tought , and i don't think i underfeed them at all ( quite the contrary)
Could it mean they are males ? Will they remain smallish for the rest of their lives ?

Look at my pics below.the het melanistic flame is a male born in march of this year.It is about 16 inches long.The female flame below in my hand was born in april.Size depends on the individual snake.Sometimes mothers on a bad diet will produce small babies that will have growth problems.You did not tell us how often you feed and what you feed.That would help a lot.

They have been fed exclusively on live fish , starting on guppy's and then various types of platty's , etc..now they are on goldfish's.One of them has a truly voracious appetite. He eats till he seems about to blow.
